When ECLAC headquarters was recognized as a research entity by Eurostat in September 2018, the Duly Designated Representative (ECLAC Executive Secretary) signed the confidentiality undertaking, which outlines the conditions for access to confidential statistical data for scientific purposes, the obligations of the researchers, measures for preserving the confidentiality of statistical data and sanctions in the event of breach of these obligations.

An additionally individual confidentiality declaration must be signed by each ECLAC researcher, after the researcher proposal is approved by Eurostat. The Researcher will receive this document for signature after the first evaluation of the research project proposal by Eurostat.

An ECLAC Internal Protocol of Confidentiality must also be signed by every research team named in any research proposal.
