FDES- Subcomponent 3.3: Generation and Management of Waste
This subcomponent includes statistics on the amount and characteristics of waste, defined as discarded material for which the owner or user has no further use, generated by human activities in the course of production and consumption processes. To reduce the amount of waste generated and increase the share of waste that is recycled and reused as material or energy source are central to sustainable consumption and production and natural resource management. The final disposal of waste in the environment, even if in a controlled manner, creates pollution and occupies considerable land areas

Las Instrucciones para la presentación de informes (Volumen 1) proporcionan instrucciones paso a paso para reunir, documentar y transmitir de manera consistente los datos del inventario nacional completado, independientemente del método utilizado para producir las estimaciones. Estas instrucciones están destinadas a todos los usuarios de las Directrices del IPCC y proporcionan los medios principales para garantizar que todos los informes sean coherentes y comparables.
El Libro de trabajo (Volumen 2) contiene sugerencias sobre la planificación y el inicio de un inventario nacional para los participantes que aún no tienen un inventario nacional disponible y no tienen experiencia en la producción de dichos inventarios.
