Setting up Feeds in Lotus Notes

First, you'll need a Google account.  If you have a GMail address, you have a Google account, including Google Reader as one applications available to you.  If you would like to use Google Reader and need to sign up, you can create a free account here.

To add a feed, look for the RSS icon on the website you want to receive updates from.  Right click over the link and select Copy Link Location on the right-click menu.

Back in Google Reader, click the Add a subscription button.

And paste the link into the dialog box that opens.  Click Add.

The next screen allows you to change settings for the subscription, including setting it to a condensed list view, instead of the default expanded article view.  As you scroll through the items, they become a lighter blue as they are marked "read".

Most items can be read in their entirety within Google Reader's default expanded article view.  If you want to go to the original site, click the headline.

When you log in to Google Reader, you'll see new items in the left menu.  You can also organize your feeds into folders.
